"Hollow Earth"

Films: At the Earth's Core (1976)

Alias: Rostrumasaurus, Uintatherium-beasts, Mahar, Blonosaurus, Giant Plant, Flame Toad

Type: Ancient

Location: Forest/Desert/Underground

Height/Weight: Ranges from that of an average human to that of a large house.

Affiliation: Evil (Mahar), Neutral (everything else)

Summary: Once again, Doug McClure is back to remind us that in a non-American world, the white man is the only savior (just a heads up, we heavily DISAGREE). In this case, he is not even on Earth, but under it.

History: Underneath the continents, there is a new world. A place known as Pellucidar, a primitive realm filled with monstrous giants and empires run by evil creatures. When Doug and Peter Cushing head there, they're immediately enslaved by the Mahar, a race of pterosaur-like beings that demand sacrifice and/or death.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: For the creatures that died, a Uintatherium-beast gets gored by its rival, a Blonosaurus gets stabbed to death by Doug, the flame toad gets hit with one arrow too many before falling off a rock and EXPLODING, and the Mahar are all killed in the wake of a revolution started by Doug. Because of course only he can be the hero.

Powers/Abilities: The flame toad can breathe fire, and the Mahar can hypnotize people with their gaze.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3-While they certainly try to be intimidating, many of these creatures can come off as goofy, with the stiff beaky Rostrumasaurus being a prime example.

Trivia: -This film was based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs' stories featuring Pellucidar, and even debuted on his birthday, September 1st.

-Apparently Doug McClure was so needy to show his testosterone that during an ill-fated shooting of one of the fight sequences, the opposing stuntman lost a finger.

It's totally unprepared for massive amounts of mighty whitey.

"Polly wanna kill you!"
That parrot creature better be glad that blade stopped short of decapitating him.

No, let them work it out.

This should be illegal.
Nice of the toad to superheat the drill.

Behold, the living Pinto.
